1. A. Background Information:

The National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR) is the largest public
health research inst
itution in Tanzania. It was established by the
Parliamentary Act No.
23 of 1979 as a parastatal organization under the
Ministry of Health. The establishment of NIMR was
in recognition by the
government of the need to generate scientific information required in
the development of better methods
and techniques of enhancing disease
managementJ prevention and control in the country.

1. B. Our Mission:
To conduct coordinate" regulate and promote scientifically and
ethically sound, high quality health research and deliver evidence-based
information that is responsive to the needs of human wellbeing.

1. C. Introduction:
Evaluation of cash transfers study will build off the Sauti. program
(multi
-level interventions at the individual) community, and health
system levels). The Sauti program goal is to contribute to the improved
health status for all Tanzanians through
a sustained reduction in new
HIV infections in support of the com
mitment to HIV prevention and family
planning by the
Gover-nment of the United Republic of Tanzania CURT).
This research aims to en
~ance our understanding of how the cash
transfers that the young girls and young women receive as part of the
DREAMS initiative affect t
heir relationship dynamics. Research will
employ
a) Longitudinal Quali tati ve In-depth Lnt er-v.i ews , b) Pho tovc i cc ,
and Behavioural economics approaches c) Immer
sion Research: d) EthnoLab.

Therefore the Institute is looking for qualified and experienced
cash transfers study Mwanza centre.

2. A. Duty Post: Research Coordinator (one Post)
Duty station: Mwanza Nyamagana district





2.         B. Required Qualifications:
·                 Master of Arts in Sociology or related social sciences field.
·                 At least one year experience in health research
·                 Knowledge of basic computer skills;
·                 Ability to work effectively with minimal supervisionJ adhere to set
priorities) standards and deadlines;
·                 Good written and oral communication in English and Kiswahili;
2. C Job description:

Specific responsibilities
1.       Participate in developing the capacity of junior project staff)
including training and recruitment of field research assistants
2.       Provide administrative and logistical support for all study
activities
3.       Organize study planning meeting and the analysis/final report
writing meeting
4.        Coordinate by keeping track of all the field work activities to
ensure adherence to timelines and achievement of agreed milestones
5.       Assist the co-investigators to track down financial expenditure and
preparation of financial reports for review
6.       Coordinate data transcription and provide timely feedback to the
local investigator Play an active role in the scientific life at
the NIMR Mwanza campus
,by presenting research progress and findings
7.        Oversee the arc~iving important documents and electronic resources
relevant to the study
8.       In collaboration with local

3.        B Required Qualifications:
·                Bachelor degree of Arts in Sociology) Anthropology or related
social sciences field.
·                At least one year experience in health research
·                Knowledge of basic computer skills;
·                Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, adhere to set
prioritiesJ standards and dea
dlines;
·                Good written and oral communication in English and Kiswahili;
3. C. Job description
1.       Support research coordinator in field activities and respond to
any immediate challenges
2.       Write field visit reports and share with the research coordinator

4.         B. Required Qualifications:
·        Bachelor degree of Arts in English Language.
·        At least one year experience in health research
·        Knowledge of basic computer skills;
·        Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, adhere to set
priorities, standards and deadlines;
·        Good written and oral communication in English and Kiswahili;
4. C.Job Description:
1.       Live translation of interview proceedings
2.       Support research coordinator in field activities and respond to
any immediate challenges
3.       Write field visit reports and share with the research
coordinator.
4. Attend daily meetings wi th the research coordinator to review
progress and provide feedback to accomplishment of planned daily
activities
5.       Contribute to the preparation of progress and final evaluation
report(s)
6.       Ensure proper utilization of the project resources and
properties (including funds and vehicles)
7.       Participate in qualitative data collection
8.       Perform any other duties related duties as assigned by the
employer.
9.         D. Knowledge, experience and skills
·        Experience conducting qualitative research (interviews and photo
voice)
--; 'EXperience workingw·i th adolescents in rural settings

4.         E. Desirable qualities
·        Understanding of longitudinal qualitative research methods
·        Understanding of the behavioural economics approaches
·        Ability to communicate in Sukuma language







4.        F.Terms of employment:
·        The period of performance is Six Months after the start of the contract.
