Tanzania National parks (TANAPA) is a Parastatal Organization whose mandate is to
manage and regulate the use of areas designated as National Parks. The Organization currently manages sixteen National Parks which form part of larger protected ecosystems set aside to preserve Tanzania’s rich natural heritage. In her endeavor to promote professionalism, the organization seeks to recruit high caliber, results oriented and self driven professionals with integrity to fill the following posts:


1. Park Warden Grade II (20 Posts)
(i)        Direct Entry Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Wildlife Management, or Zoology and Wildlife Ecology from a recognized training institution. Must be computer literate.
(ii)Duties and Responsibilities
§  Responsible for organizing and carrying out daily anti-poaching patrols;
§  Identifying and solving common and persistent problems in the guard stations, section or department;
§  Preparing daily, weekly and monthly work plans, carrying out performance evaluation and reporting on the same;
§  Collaborating and sensitizing stake holders on environmental conservation issues and building good relationships between them and the park;
§  Liaising with Local Authorities on parks management and socio-economic development;
§  May represent the Park Manager in development, security, conservation, conflict resolution meetings at various levels;
§  Participating and collaborating with the local communities in village development in identifying conservation friendly income generating activities;
§  Facilitating the establishment of schools’ wildlife clubs and village environmental committees and organizing their functioning;
§  Preparing and presenting evidence before the courts of law for issues pertaining to poaching or banditry within the park;
§  Prosecuting poaching cases before the courts of law;
§  Participating in enforcement, review and formulation of strategies for implementing National Parks Act and its Regulations;
§  Coordinating and implementing approved tourism management activities within the Park;
§  Conducting proactive park and boundaries surveillance; and
§  Performing any other relevant duties as may be assigned by superior

2. Multimedia Projectionist (2 Posts)
  
(i)        Direct Entry Qualifications:
Holder of Ordinary Diploma in video/film production or cinematography from recognized training institution.


ii) Duties and Responsibilities:
§  Creating and producing multimedia products
§  Developing digital images and artworks for animation sequences
§  Editing and manipulating digital audio/video files
§  Installing and commissioning new multimedia equipment and facilities.
§  Advising on the procurement of multimedia equipment and facilities,
§  Carrying out minor maintenance and repair of multimedia equipment;
§  Managing the media hall and programming the automation system according to schedule;
§  Ensuring cleanness of multimedia centre equipment and its surroundings;
§  Providing input in the planning, budgeting and implementation of the unit’s plans and activities;
§  Performing any other duties as may be assigned by superior

3. Information Systems Internal Auditor (1 Post)
(i) Direct Entry Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified herewith. Must possess Certification of Information Systems Auditor (CISA). A holder of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) will be an added advantage.


ii) Duties and Responsibilities:
§  Conducting audit reviews of information systems to all Tanzania National Parks systems;
§  Carrying out reviews of computer information systems control;
§  Examining suitable and usable data on various computer networks and systems;
§  Evaluating information processing systems to determine its efficiency and effectiveness;
§  Identifying and assessing organizational potential Information Systems risk areas
§  Designing, developing and implementing computer systems audit;
§  Coordinates and interacts with external auditors on computerized information systems;
§  Making follow up on audits queries, both internal and external;
§  Preparing internal audit reports, working papers and audit files; and
§  Performing any other relevant duties as may be assigned by superior.

4. Office/Park Attendants (12 Posts)
(i) Direct Entry Qualifications:
Holder of Form IV Certificate with passes in English and Kiswahili and must have successfully completed Office Assistants’ Course from a recognised institution.


(ii) Duties and Responsibilities:
§  Cleaning Offices, bandas, camp sites and other Park Environment;
§  Taking inventory of cleaning equipment and safe keeping them.
§  Moving files from office to office, arranging files, sorting documents etc;
§  Watering plants and maintaining garden lawns;
§  Trimming grass and shrubs;
§  Carrying out the duties of messenger e.g. photocopying, handling postage, collection of mail from post office, distributing stationary to the officers; and
§  Performing any other related duties that may be assigned by superior.

(iv)      Age limit: Not above 35 years of age


5. Boat Operator (1 Post)
(i) Direct Entry Qualifications:
Holder of Form four Certificate with Basic Certificate in Marine Operations from a recognised institution. Must have completed six months course in marine rescue and swimming, crowd management and passenger safety.
(ii) Experience:   
At least three years in operating and maintaining ferry/boats certified by Dar es Salaam Maritime Institute or any other recognized Institute.
     
(iii) Duties and Responsibilities:
§  Anchoring and de-anchoring;
§  Operating and directing boats;
§  Ensuring safety of passengers and vehicles in the boat;
§  Keeping and maintaining records and log books/sheets for all trips;
§  Ensuring that boat engines are in good running condition;
§  Checking fuel / oil and other working tools;
§  Providing direct services to passengers spaces; and
§  Performing other related duties assigned by a superior.
(iv) Age limit: Not above 35 years of age
(v) Salary scale:  TNPSS B


6. Assistant Internal Auditor (2 Posts)


(i) Direct Entry Qualifications:
At least Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accountancy from recognized institution and must be computer literate.


(ii) Duties and Responsibilities
§  Assisting Internal Auditors in conducting various audit tests.  
§  Participating in the collection of audit evidence.
§  Preparing audit working papers or audit files
§  Participating in preparation of internal audit reports.
§  Replying to audit queries emanating from audit working papers and reports after review by Auditors,
§  Participating in witnessing annual stock takings and board of survey.
§  Performing any other duties related to the field as may be assigned by superior.
(iii) Salary scale:  TNPSS E

7. Procurement and Supplies Technician Grade II (8 Posts)
(i) Direct Entry Qualification:
Holder of Form IV/VI Certificate with Certificate in Procurement and Supplies or Basic Certificate issued by the Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board (PSPTB). Must be computer literate.
(ii) Duties and Responsibilities:
§  Maintaining Stores Ledger;
§  Keeping stock record and bin cards;
§  Participating in receiving and issuing goods;
§  Preparing and maintaining procurement ledger;
§  Maintaining fixed assets ledger;
§  Ensuring safety and cleanliness of stores; and
§  Performing other related duties assigned by a superior.
(iii) Salary Scale:   TNPSS C

8. Plant Operator   (2 Posts)
      
(i) Direct Entry Qualifications:
Holder of Form Four Certificate with Class “G” Plant Operators Licence.
(ii) Experience:
Must have experience in plant operation for not less than 300 hours or three months with clean operating record.
(iii) Duties and Responsibilities:
§  Operating heavy-duty machines such as wheel loaders, folk lifts and graders;
§  Maintaining heavy machine logbook and movement records according to regulations;
§  Undertaking minor service and repair of plants / machines;
§  Making regular checks of plants/machines to ensure cleanliness and serviceability.
§  Performing other related duties assigned by a superior

9. Office Secretaries (7 Posts)
(i) Direct Entry Qualifications:
Holder of Form IV Certificate with good passes in English and Kiswahili who possess a Certificate in Secretarial Studies from Tanzania Public Service College or any other recognized institution. Must be computer literate.
(ii) Duties and Responsibilities
§  Typing official documents
§  Receiving and directing visitors to respective offices
§  Keeping and maintaining diaries and appointments of his / her superior
§  Keeping and maintaining office machines / equipment and accessories.
§  Ensuring incoming and outgoing files are in order;
§  Preparing list of office requirements;
§  Facilitating departmental meetings arrangements
§  Keeping record of file movement register and other office documents in his/her office; and
§  Performing other related duties assigned by a superior.

10. Tourism Promotion Assistant (6 Posts)
(i) Direct Entry Qualifications
Holder of Certificate in Wildlife Management, Tour Guiding or Tourism from a recognized institution. Fluency in Swahili, English and any of the following foreign languages: French, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Italian, Spanish or Chinese. Must be computer literate.
(ii) Duties and Responsibilities
§  Receiving and attending tourists;
§  Guiding tourists/visitors on game viewing activities;
§  Collecting visitor statistics;
§  Preparing daily visitation report;
§  Conducting Park Interpretation to Visitors, including school groups and other educational parties;
§  Ensuring that visitors/tourists follow Park rules and regulations during their stay in the park;
§  Advising visitors on safety issues (in and outside the park);
§  Participating in the daily cleaning of the Park; and
§  Other relevant duties as may be assigned by Superior.

11. Park Ecologist II (2 Posts)


(i) Direct Entry Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Wildlife Management or Zoology & Wildlife Ecology, from a recognized training institution. Must be computer literate.


(ii) Duties and Responsibilities:
§  Collecting, analysing and interpreting ecological data;
§  Conducting ecological researches;
§  Monitoring of effects of tourism activities and infrastructure development on the ecology of the park;
§  Supervising junior staff in animal and biodiversity data collection;
§  Liaising with veterinary officers in monitoring diseases;
§  Participating in research being conducted by external researchers;
§  Assisting in Environmental Impact Assessment and SEA;
§  Participating in the preparation and implementation of Fire Management Plan;
§  Participating in the implementation of Programmatic Environmental Assessment (PEA) for roads improvement;
§  Participating in wildfire suppression in the Parks;
§  Participating in animal census and bird counts;
§  Controlling pollution and exotic species (flora and fauna);
§  Participating in GMP / EIA formulation/preparation; and
§  Any other relevant duties as assigned by superior

12. Artisan Grade III (6 Posts)
(i) Direct Entry Qualifications:
Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination with Trade Test Grade III or Relevant CBET Level in Motor Vehicles Mechanics, Auto mobile or Electric Installation from recognized Vocational Training Institution.
(ii) Duties and Responsibilities:
§  Carrying out functions of metal work
§  Assisting Technicians in day to day activities;
§  Carrying out minor mechanical works
§  Identifying materials/required spares parts for the work to be done
§  Performing preventive or routine maintenance to motor vehicles, machine and boats
§  Inspecting and repairing motor vehicles, boats and machines
§  Carrying out functions such as metal work or painting motor vehicles
§  Preparing reports for day to day works implementations/status; and         
§  Performing any other related duties as may be assigned by superior.

13. Civil Engineer (3 Posts)
(i)Direct Entry Qualifications:
Holder of at least Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from any recognized Institution. Must be registered by the Engineer Registration Board (ERB) as a Professional Engineer.

(ii) Duties and Responsibilities:
§  Preparing relevant designs, cost estimates and tender documents for projects in the Park or at the corporate level;
§  Advising and supervise projects under construction and ensure proper choice of materials and equipment;
§  Inspecting infrastructures and preparing preventive maintenance schedules for the infrastructures;
§  Preparing specification and technical reports for projects and other activities in the related field;
§  Preparing site plan for park development projects
§  Inspecting engineering facilities;
§  Participating in the preparation of relevant designs, cost estimates and tender documents for projects in the Park;
§  Carrying out engineering duties as assigned;
§  Preparing technical reports for projects and other activities in the related field;
§  Participating in the preparation of GMPs / EIAs and CSP; and
§  Performing any other related duties assigned by the superior
§  Supervising civil technicians;
§  Preparing preventive maintenance schedules for the department / section for infrastructure and other civil works;          

(iii) Salary Scale: TNPSS F

14. Drivers (13 Posts)
(i) Direct Entry Qualifications:
Holder of Form IV Certificate with passes in English and Kiswahili with class ‘C’ driving license and ‘Trade Test’ Grade III or above in Motor Vehicle Mechanics.
(ii) Experience:
At least three years driving experience as class “C” driving licence holder.
(iii) Duties and Responsibilities:
§  Driving passenger vehicles, pick-ups and lorries
§  Maintaining vehicle logbook and movement records;
§  Undertaking minor maintenance of vehicles;
§  Making regular checks of vehicles and other machinery to ensure cleanliness and serviceability.
§  Running errands
§  Performing any other related duties assigned by the superior
(iv) Salary Scale:   TNPSS B

15. Accounts Technician (15 Posts)
(i) Direct Entry Qualifications:
A holder of form Four Certificate with Accounts Technician Certificate (ATEC I) or Certificate of Accounting or equivalent qualification from recognized institution. Candidate must be computer literate.


(ii) Duties and Responsibilities
§  Maintaining revenue and visitor statistics;
§  Undertaking revenue collection and maintaining their daily and monthly summaries;
§  Preparing payment vouchers;
§  Making various authorised payments;
§  Preparing of revenue schedules for money collected by appointed officers responsible for banking;
§  Preparing of various Accounts summaries and schedules; and
§  Performing any other related duties assigned by the superior

16. Civil Technicians (14 Posts)
(i)Direct Entry Qualifications:
Holder of at least of Diploma or Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications in the relevant field from a recognized institution. Working experience of at least three years in relevant field from a reputable organization will be an added advantage.


(ii) Duties and Responsibilities:
§  Preparing and supervising the implementation of preventive maintenance schedule for the section and advise accordingly;
§  Keeping and updating technical reports, drawings and other documents; and
§  Conducting daily inspection of all park facilities;
§  Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs of buildings;
§  Keeping and monitoring maintenance records;
§  Preparing relevant designs, cost estimates and tender documents for projects in the Park;

17. Human Resources and Administrative Officer Grade II (2 Posts)
(i) Direct Entry Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or Public Administration or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution. Must be computer literate.
(ii) Duties and Responsibilities:
§  Compiling and updating personnel records/ statistics;
§  Administering staff remuneration system;
§  Dealing with disciplinary matters of the junior staff and labour disputes;
§  Updating and maintaining seniority list;
§  Ensuring availability of clean office accommodation at all times;
§  Ensuring availability of office equipment machines, their maintenance and repair;
§  Supervising Drivers, Secretarial staff and Office/Park Attendants;
§  Providing office supervisory services;
§  Establishing and maintaining Human Resources and administrative records and information systems;
§  Ensuring adequate and timely transport services;
§  Ensuring upkeep of offices and estates of the organization;

18. Quantity Surveyor (1 post)
(i) Direct Entry Qualifications
Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Building Economics from a recognized institution. Must be registered by Board of Architects and Quantity Surveyors. Must be computer literate.
(ii) Experience:
At least three years’ experience with a reputable organization in the related field.


(iii) Duties and Responsibilities:
§  Preparing cost estimates for planned rehabilitation or new constructions;
§  Providing value of work done for rehabilitation/renovation or new construction;
§  Providing quantity survey advice on building project proposals;
§  Evaluating work done on rehabilitation and new constructions; and
§  Performing any other duties related to the field as assigned by superior

19. Nurse / Nurse Midwife (1 Post)
(i) Direct Entry Qualifications:
Holder of Form IV certificate with a certificate in nursing and enrolled by the Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council.
(ii) Experience:
At least three years working experience with outstanding performance and good conduct in the field.
(iii) Duties and Responsibilities:    
§  Ensuring administration of prescribed medications and treatments to patients in accordance with approved nursing techniques;
§  Preparing equipment and assist medical practitioner during treatment and examination of patient;
§  Clarifying procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and alleviate apprehension;
§  Providing/Creating awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient;
§  Observing, Assessing patient condition and reactions to detect deviation from normal and notifying the supervisor;
§  Documenting nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients;
§  Administering drugs and treatment as prescribed by the medical practitioner
§  Undertaking patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by physician including patient and family instruction;
§  Providing education health on family planning and safe motherhood to the Parks and neighboring community;
§  Conducting reproductive Child Health (RCH) care and family planning services in the Park community;
§  Providing primary health education on nutrition, sanitation and vaccination
§  Participating in dispensary quality improvement activities;
§  Providing first aid services to the staff and park community;
§  Arranging and participating in first aid training to the staff;
§  Identifying supplies and equipment requirements for the dispensary;
§  Conducting and providing inputs for wellness programs to the staff;
§  Educating and sensitizing people about infectious and none infectious diseases and securing voluntary counseling and testing (VCT);
§  Maintain cleanliness and proper disposal of medical waste products
§  Preparing reports for the work performed;
§  Performing other relevant duties as assigned by the Superiors;

20. Assistant Accountant (1 post)
(i) Direct Entry Qualifications:
Holder of Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent qualifications from any recognized Institution.
(ii) Duties and Responsibilities
§  Preparing payment vouchers;
§  Collecting revenue;
§  Compiling and preparing revenue statistics;     
§  Maintaining revenue, sales and purchase daybooks;
§  Maintaining staff imprest records and retirement;
§  Preparing monthly summaries of all Analysis books;
§  Preparing outstanding payments list;
§  Preparing monthly and payroll summary sheets;
§  Preparing bills and recording invoices;
§  Extracting monthly trial balance and other and report; and
§  Performing other related duties assigned by a superior.

21. Senior Planning Officer (M & E) (2 Posts)
(i) Direct Entry Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Economics, Natural Resources Management, Land Use Planning or Economics Planning and must possess Post graduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation.Must be computer literate.
(ii) Experience:
At least five years satisfactory work in the related field.
(iii) Duties and Responsibilities
§  Compiling collected data and information for planning purposes;
§  Facilitating preparation of departmental strategic plans;
§  Monitoring and Evaluating the implementation of GMPs/EIAs and CSP;
§  Participating in preparation of organisational budgets;
§  Participating in conducting M & E of projects and plans
§  Drafting appropriate tools and instruments to be utilized in the monitoring and reporting of programs and projects
§  Submitting periodic reports on existing programs, policies and procedures and recommends measures to improve services, systems and procedures;
§  Participating in identification and determining project viability and setting project priorities
§  Participating in preparations of maps for the planning purposes; and
§  Performing any other related duties assigned by the superior.

22. Principal Internal Auditor
(i) Direct Entry Qualifications;
Holder of CPA, ACCA or ACA and must be registered with NBAA as a Certified Public Accountant in Public Practice.   Must be computer literate.
(ii) Experience
Candidate must have worked in the related field for at least eight years in a large and reputable institution
            
(ii) Duties and Responsibilities:
§  Supervising Internal Auditors.
§  Carrying out audit of financial statements.
§  Witnessing stock taking and annual board of survey
§  Preparing internal audit reports.
§  Participating in special audits and special investigations
§  Orienting new Internal Audit staff.
§  Reviewing working papers and reports prepared by juniors.
§  Timely responding to audit queries emanating from audit working papers after review by superiors.
§  Preparing audit working papers and audit files.
§  Making follow up on internal and external audits queries.
§  Assisting CIA in the coordination of internal audit activities/functions.
§  Advising on areas of improvement for effective internal control system.
§  Performing any other duties related to the field as may be assigned by superior

23. Automotive Engineer (1 Post)
(i) Direct Entry Qualifications: Holder of at least Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field from any recognized Institution. Must be registered by the Engineer Registration Board (ERB) as a Professional Engineer.
ii) Duties and Responsibilities:
§  Preparing preventive maintenance programs for plants and engines; motor vehicles, system components, equipment and tools;
§  Participating in preparing maintenance strategies of vehicle and machines.
§  Preparing and estimating overall costs of vehicles and machines maintenance budget
§  Managing, controlling and guiding of the Technicians and Artisans involved in the work section.
§  Establishing and conducting various software for vehicles and machines maintenance
§  Responsible for finding various solutions of problems to the organization vehicles and machines
§  Carrying out engineering duties as assigned;
§  Conducting overhauls, removing and installing plants and motor vehicle engines, etc, for the purpose of maintenance; and
§  Performing any other related duties assigned by the superior
