CASHEWNUT INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT TRUST FUND

The Cashewnut Industry Development Trust Fund (CIDTF) is a body incorporated under the provisions of Trustees' Incorporation Act (Chapter 375 RE 2002). The main objective of the Fund is to provide a mechanism through which stakeholders could contribute and finance shared functions for sustainable development of the cashew sub-sector. The main stakeholders of the Fund are The Central Government, Local Government Authorities (WM) growing cashew,
Cashewnut processors and Cashewnut farmers. The Fund has been in operation since year 2010 and has accomplished peat strides in areas of inputs sourcing and distribution, training and extension services, supporting small and medium processors, supporting cashew research activities, strengthening the cashew marketing system and investment planning whereof it is currently embarking on establishing three new cashewnut processing factories. CIDTF has also embarked in a large cashew planning project starting 2016/2017 season.

CIDTF is therefore looking for qualified, dynamic and experienced Tanzanians to fill following vacancy:

POSITION: Project Accountant (1 Post)

REPORTS TO: Agricultural and Extension Manager

LOCATION: Mtwara

JOB PURPOSE:

To assist in the attainment of the Fund's cashew-nut production growth strategy by effectively implementing, monitoring and evaluating the cashew planting projects.

PRIMARY TASKS:

Ø  Liaising and working closely with District Subject Matter Specialists of Cashewnut.

Ø  Preparation and remittance of DSMS1 monthly/quarterly allowances on timely basis.

Ø  Preparation and remittance of supervision/development funds to the regions and districts to enable timely implementation of planned activities.

Ø  Timely preparation and remittance of payments to suppliers, seedling producers, transporters and all other service providers related to the project.

Ø  Provide financial advice to Agricultural and Extension Manager and other staffs.

Ø  To maintain current directory of financial reports. D Performing projects monitoring and evaluation.

Ø  Prepare monthly financial report and submit to Agricultural and Extension Manager

Ø  Perform any other duties assigned by superiors.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Ø  Good University degree M Accounting or equivalent qualification from recognized institutions. At least five (5) years of post-qualification experience in a similar or higher position with a reputable organization.

Ø  Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English and Swahili.

Ø  Solid proficiency with accounting software along with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook).

Ø  Proven good track mooed of integrity, innovativeness, hardworking and self-confidence.

Ø  Ability to work under minimum supervision.

Ø  Ready to undertake field assignments.

Ø  Knowledge or experience in projects management and logistics will be an added advantage.

TENURE 
Successful candidates will work under a contract of one year, renewable upon satisfactory performance and project continuation.

REMUNERATION

REPORTS TO:Agricultural and Extension Manager

LOCATION: Mtwara

JOB-PURPOSE:

To assist in the attainment of the Fund's cashewnut product growth strategy by effectively implementing, monitoring and evaluating the cashew planning projects.

PRIMARY TASKS:

Ø  Liaising and working closely with District subject Matter specialist of cashewnut

Ø  To assist client and timely preparation of needed printing materials

Ø  To assist timely distribution of planting materials to nursery producers and farmers

Ø  Follow ups to insure that all distributed seed and seedling are planted and well-kept to growth

Ø  Training and capacity building to former and village/ ward extension officers on good agricultural practices

Ø  Maintaining up to date directory of cashewnut farmers

Ø  To assist in insuring that all contractual obligations are complied with, including contracts signing, timely supply, production, distribution, documentation and payments for all services related to the project.

Ø  Performing projects monitoring and evaluation.

Ø  Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Ø  Good University degree in Agronomy, Agriculture (General), Agricultural Education & Extension or equivalent qualification from recognized institutions.

Ø  At least two years of post-qualification experience in a similar or higher, position with a reputable organization.

Ø  Proficiency with computer application packages like Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Access and Power Point essential.

POSITION:Finance and Administration Manager

REPORTS TO:Executive Secretary

LOCATION: Mtwara

JOB PURPOSE

The finance and administrative manager is responsible for the efficient running of the fund back-office operations, the effective control of its financial and human resources, and of the technical, IT and administrative system in order to contribute to the delivery of the organizations overall services and commercial objectives.

PRIMARY TASKS

1.    Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, The Finance and Administration Manager will have overall control and responsibility for all financial aspects of Fund's strategy, analyzing figures and implementing recommendations thereof for sustainable growth of the

2.    Leading and developing the finance and administration teams.

3.    Ensure that proper Books of Accounts are maintained in line with Generally Accepted Accounting Standards and other professional pronouncements

4.    Presentation of Periodical and annual financial and management accounts.

5.    Work with senior management to grow the Fund, formulating strategies, plans and budgets.

6.    Take ultimate responsibility for the Fund's cash management, investment policies, taxation and other regulatory compliance

7.    Develop the Fund's human resources and administration system, enhancing professional development, compensation and benefits, performance evaluation, training and recruiting.

8.    Oversee administrative functions as well as facilities to ensure efficient and consistent operations.

9.    Institute effective internal control systems to ensure safety of the Fund's resources and compliance of laid down financial regulations.

10.Checking and approving payment voucher

11.Perform any other duties assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

1.    Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting/ Finance

2.    Certified Public Accounting (CPA) or equivalent professional qualification.

3.    Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), IT, Human resources management

4.    Seven or more years of experience in similar position.

5.    Ability to work in a multicultural diverse environment and under pressure

6.    Demonstrated ability to adhere to strict confidentiality involving internal/ external information.

7.    Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English and Swahili.

8.    Solid proficiency with accounting software along with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

9.    Ability to plan, manage and follow through assignment and communicate at all levels of the organization in a timely and professional manner

10.Ability to work independently and as a member of a team with minimal supervision.
