Child Caretaker
Location: Dar es Salaam Reporting to: Senior Social Counsellor
JOB SUMMARY
Take care of children and teach them.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

§     Supervise and monitor the safety of children in their care
§     Prepare meals and organize mealtimes and snacks for children
§     Help children keep good hygiene
§     Instruct children in health and personal habits such as eating, resting, and toilet habits.
§     Change the diapers of infants and toddlers
§     Organize activities or implement a curriculum that allow children to learn about the world and explore interests
§     Develop schedules and routines to ensure that children have enough physical activity, rest, and playtime
§     Organize and participate in recreational activities, such as games. Read to children, and teach them simple painting, drawing, handicrafts, and songs
§     Watch for signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring the problems to the attention of parents
§     Organize and store toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas
§     Keep records of children’s progress, routines, and interest
§     Support children's emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts
§     Discipline children and recommend or initiate other measures to control behavior, such as caring for own clothing and picking up toys and books.
§     Identify signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring them to parents' or guardians' attention.
§     Prepare and submit reports on all activities on learning progress at the centre every month.
§     Other job-related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

§     Hold certificate or diploma in teaching
§     Child caretaker must be at least 21 years
§     2-3 year working experience on the same position
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

§     Child caretaker should have good verbal communication and interpersonal skills to work with children and parents.
§     Knowledge on early childhood teaching
§     Instructional Skills: Child caretaker needs to be able to explain instructions clearly and in a way kids can understand.
§     Patience: Children can be frustrating, especially around nap time. Being patient will help you when tense situations arise.
§     Stamina: Kids are bundles of energy, and nannies need the energy to match. Carrying children, diaper bags, etc. require strength.
§     2-3 year experience in working on the same job.
Time frame
The Instructors and Child Caretaker will be appointed under one year contract with possibility of renewal based on performance and availability of funds

French Instructor
Location: Dar es Salaam Reporting to: Education Officer
JOB SUMMARY
Teach oral and written Kiswahili, English and French languages to refugees and asylum seekers
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

§     Classroom management;
§     Planning, preparing and delivering lessons to a range of classes and age groups;
§     preparing and setting tests, examination papers and exercises;
§     Marking and providing appropriate feedback on oral and written work;
§     Devising, writing and producing new materials, including audio and visual resources;
§     Organizing and getting involved in social and cultural activities such as sports competitions, school parties, dinners and excursions;
§     Attending and contributing to training sessions;
§     Preparing information for inspection visits and other quality assurance exercises;
§     Freelance teaching on a one-to-one basis;
§     Basic administration, such as keeping learners registers and attendance records.
§     Prepare and submit reports on all activities on learning progress at the centre every month.
§     Other job-related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

§     Holder of a diploma or degree in linguistics
§     Must be proficient in linguistics.
§     2-3 year Experience working in teaching languages (Kiswahili, English and French).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

§     Person must develop rapport with learners in the classroom setting.
§     Effective oral and written communication skills.
§     Maintain professional manner and ethics at all times.
§     Experience working with pre-college programs and secondary-level student preferred.

English Instructor

Job Summary
Teach the computer applications components at Refugees Community Centre.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

§     Develop course syllabus, assess, supervise, and motivate refugee learners.
§     Design, facilitate, and teach the computer applications components.
§     Prepare execute lesson plans, assigning tasks, and evaluating learners work and progress.
§     Facilitate computer knowledge of software, MS Office, and internet
§     Promote safe, effective, and ethical learning environment.
§     Use professional discretion and judgment in managing learners in classroom setting.
§     Prepare and submit reports on all activities on learning progress at the centre every month.
§     Other job-related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

§     Holder of a diploma in Computer science
§     Must be proficient in MS Office and internet applications
§     2-3 year Experience working in computer labs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

§     Person must develop rapport with learners in the classroom setting.
§     Effective oral and written communication skills.
§     Maintain professional manner and ethics at all times.
§     Experience working with pre-college programs and secondary-level student preferred.
