Description:
The Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) was established
under
the Public
Corporations Act No. 17 of 1969 by a Presidential Order through Government
Notice number 115, published on 25th August, 1978. The Centre is wholly owned
by the Government of United Republic of Tanzania and operates under the purview
of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Co-operation.
The AICC was
established to manage and control the Headquarters’ complex of the defunct East
African Community in Arusha which belonged to the defunct East African
Community. It also owns Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre as per
Arusha International Conference Centre (Amendment) Order of 2014, dated 19th
March, 2014; and provide facilities and services on the complex for purposes of
conferences, meetings, seminars etc.
The Centre
invites applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill in the below
mentioned vacant posts:-
Pharmaceutical
Technician ll (TWO POSTS)
Answerable to
PHARMACIST
Qualifications
(a) Entry
Qualifications
Holders of
Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology or its equivalent from a recognized
Centre/Institution.
(b) Duties
and Responsibilities
Undertake
Pharmaceutical Production i.e. compounding, packaging and labeling
pharmaceutical products under supervision of senior staff
Providing
medication and other health care products to patients
Dispensing
medicines to patients
Educating
patients on rational use of drugs
Maintaining
prescription records and inventories of medications and pharmaceutical products
Performing
any other duties relevant to the scope of work that may be assigned by the
supervisor
Assistant
Laboratory Technician 8 (TWO POSTS)
Answerable to
LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
Qualifications
Entry
Qualifications Holders of two years Laboratory Certificate or equivalent
qualification from a recognized Centre/institution with at least three years’
experience in a similar position.
(a) Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Maintain
cleanliness in the laboratory, equipment and glassware.
(ii) To keep
record of laboratory tests
(iii) To
perform laboratory tests
(iv)
Preparing re-agents for routine examination of patients
(v) Carrying
out diagnostic procedures
(vi) Maintaining
laboratory records and avail them upon request by appropriate authority
(vii)
Assisting senior staff in various fields of operation
(viii)
Performing any other duties relevant to the scope of work that may be assigned
by the supervisor
Maintenance
Technician — Electrical II (ONE POST)
Answerable to
SENIOR MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN – ELECTRICAL
Qualifications:
Entry
Qualifications Holder of Form IVNI certificate of Secondary Education with Full
Technician Certificate and Ordinary Diploma (National Technical Award Level VI)
in Electrical Engineering for its equivalent from a recognized institution with
at least three years’ experience in a similar position.
(a) Duties
and Responsibilities
(i) Assist in
the maintenance and repair of Centre’s facilities
(ii) Assist
in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors
(iii)
Responsible for 24 hour emergency maintenance services
(iv) Ensuring
inspections of conferences and offices are done according to the laid down
procedures
(v) Monitor
and maintain all building systems as assigned
(vi) Ensuring
that maintenance and repair are done properly and professionally
(vii) Repair
and replace worn out or damaged property
(viii)
Keeping records for every maintenance and repair works undertaken
(ix)
Performing any other duties relevant to the scope of work that may be assigned
by assigned by the supervisor

Terms of
Employment: Contractual basis
Remuneration:An
attractive package commensurate with the qualifications and relevant experience
