title: Project Officer (2 post )
Duty station: Iringa district (1 post) and Mwanza (1 post )
Reporting to: Education and Family Strengthening Coordinator
Roles & Responsibilities
• Facilitate family economic empowerment for caregivers and youth
• Lead the planning of the family strengthening interventions
• Facilitate community assessment for the identification of the beneficiaries of the program
• Facilitate capacity building of caregivers and communities to enable them to respond to the needs of Most Vulnerable
• Support communities in the assessment of root causes leading to child abandonment at family and community levels
• Responsible for the timely implementation of the programme plans from the approved annual plans and budgets.
• Facilitate families’ access to essential services required to fulfill their children’s developmental needs and rights.
• Facilitate Capacity building of families as well as the community.
• Keep up-to-date information regarding beneficiaries and services provided
Knowledge, Skills and abilities
• Bachelor degree in Social Work, Community Development, Rural Development Planning or Sociology from a recognized university.
• At least two years working experience preferably with NGO in this field.
• 1-2 Years work experience as social worker, community development officer, community facilitator
• Community facilitation and mobilization skills.
• Proven Knowledge and experience in Parenting Training Skills, Psychosocial and counselling skills
• Basic Knowledge of Gender, Child rights and Advocacy. Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Computer skills especially Microsoft word, Excel & the Internet.
• A good command of both oral & written English
• Must have a valid driving license
