Job title: Education and Family Strengthening Project Coordinator
Duty station: Iringa District ( 1 post )
Reporting to: National Alternative care and Education Strengthening Advisor.

The Education and Family Strengthening Coordinator will responsible for managing the Project in Iringa to ensure effective implementation the Project and monitoring Project deliverables (Outputs and Outcomes); ensures efficiency utilization of project resources to bring desired outputs/Outcomes, lead project staff and coordinate their plan to maximize project impact; serve as spokesperson of the project at District level; lead project partnership/engagements in order to maximize the project impact; responsible for the regular monitoring and reporting of project implementation and ensure the project is aligned with organizational, mission Strategy and standards.

Roles and responsibilities

Lead the implementation of Project intervention by translating the project proposal into quarterly and annual plans Coordinate participation of key project stakeholders and beneficiary to increase community ownership and resource mobilization to support sustainability of the project deliverables.

Overall responsible for budget utilization and management in line with project goals, SOS Children’s Villages Financial standards and acceptable financial standards. Be a change agent and champion of the rights of Most Vulnerable Children in the project area Coordinate the implementation of the programme activities.

Regularly identify needs and engage partners to design projects to address others needs of most vulnerable children Build a strong project team and supervise the project team. Ensure quality and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual narrative progress and financial reports are submitted to donors and to the National Office Collect and write impact stories about the Project on Quarterly basis Work with Quality Assurance Advisor to design monitoring and evaluation framework.

 Knowledge, skills and abilities

Bachelor of Education degree (BED) in Education Management, Sociology or Development studies from reputable Universities.
Understanding and commitment to principles of child rights and child protection.
Excellent communication skills.
Proven abilities in delivering results for education and development.
Experience of working for NGOs Experience in advocacy, lobbying and training around child rights, child protection, and child participation
Experience in project monitoring and evaluation
3-4 years of working with Local Governments in areas of education and Families economic empowerment.
Excellent project management skills.
Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
Must have a valid driving license.
