Comprehensive
Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) is a locally registered NGO
first established in 1994. It is the largest indigenous provider of disability
and rehabilitation services in the country.
CCBRT
aims to empower people with disabilities and their families, improve their
quality of life, and ensure access to medical and rehabilitative treatment.
Committed to
preventing
disabilities wherever possible, CCBRT is also engaged in extensive maternal and
newborn healthcare (MNHC) capacity
building
activities in the Dar es Salaam region and is currently constructing a
Maternity and Newborn Hospital (MH)

The role
As
a Senior Registered Nurse Midwife you will provide on -site mentoring, coaching
and training in government facilities on post -natal care. You will support the
implementation of standard operating procedures for post-natal care and
coordinate
and follow up capacity building activities on Perinatal Care and Kangaroo
Mother Care.
Seniority
for us means leading by example, and you will promote scientific problem
solving
and
manage relationships by maintaining partnership sand collaboration swith
relevant
stakeholders
(health professionals and medical professional organisations, and partners in
the municipal and regional offices).
You
will also provide support towards the training of staff ahead of the opening of
CCBRT
’s
Maternity and Newborn Hospital, as well
as developing policies, implementation plans and standard operation procedures
for the future new MH
.
The candidate
·Should hold a BSc.
in Nursing or Advanced Diploma in Midwifery, with a minimum 2 years working
experience in post-natal maternity ward
·Will have experience
in Kangaroo Mother Care
·Possesses good
knowledge of and working experience in the Tanzanian health system, and is
registered with the Nurses’ Council of Tanzania
·Has good written
and oral communication skills in both Swahili and English
·Is a multi-tasker with
proven ability to mobilise teams, a flexible worker and has a commitment to
service improvement
·Is computer
literate, self-motivated, takes initiative, and works with professionalism
