Field Officer (Two Vacancies)
Job Expectations
This is a new opportunity for the professionals who can deliver the requirements of the role with honesty, passion and confidence. The successful candidate will work with small holder farmer communities in Arusha Region mobilizing and sensitizing farmer groups development, agricultural & livestock commodities production and market linkages. These are a combination of Managerial and Field Implementation positions. The successful candidates will work with a “Sustainable Agriculture Project” that works with more than one other organizations.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare work plans and implementation strategies for training activities for frmers, farmer groups and local networks; Organize and participate in monitoring of the project interventions; Prepare and present field interventions reports
Sensitization and mobilization of members and groups; Timely collect and update membership information
Build capacity of the groups and networks to prepare their operations plans and to coach them on implementation; Facilitate lobbying and advocacy strategies
Manage relationships with relevant stakeholders (local government
and other stakeholders)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Diploma, or University degree in Community Development, Agriculture/Livestock Development, or related field; Minimum 2 years of experience in the related field.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to present technical concepts in lay terms; Ability to work hard under pressure and manage multiple tasks and to learn new concepts quickly.
Be practiced and skilled at influencing key stakeholders; Excellent organizational skills: Prioritize and manage own workload, whilst having other team members in mind
Be friendly, approachable and adaptable; Possession of a valid Driving License for vehicles (including motorcycles) is a must!
