Description
Agriteam Canada Consulting Ltd. provides management and technical expertise to developing and transitional country partners on projects that promote sustainable growth and meaningful opportunities for people to improve their lives. Over the past 30 years, Agriteam has managed and implemented more than 350 projects and assignments in dozens of countries worldwide. We are currently looking to expand our team with the addition of a Gender Specialist to support the development and implementation of our programs and services.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning
• Develop gender equity strategies in all Agriteam sectors (Agriculture and Agribusiness, Community Development, Education and Education Reform, Environment, Governance and Public Sector Reform, Health, Infrastructure Development, Legal and Judicial Reform and Private Sector Development);
• Guide/Oversee/Develop and coordinate the continuous improvement of Agriteam’s gender mainstreaming approach and toolkit, the Gender Analysis Pathway.
• Keep abreast of current global trends, developments and innovations in gender equality and related fields (i.e. women’s economic empowerment, women’s rights, etc.).
• Collaborate with programming and non-programming staff to ensure gender work is integrated throughout Agriteam, including planning, project/program design and implementation, and organizational learning.

Support to Projects
• Ensure integration of gender in project design through the Development and use of gender-sensitive monitoring and evaluation, and results-based management tools (i.e. Logic Model, Performance Measurement Framework, Risk Register, etc.). Oversee and participate in the development and implementation of gender assessments and gender equality strategies in all Agriteam project activities.
• Oversee and participate collaboratively in the development and implementation of gender-sensitive programming, including work planning, reporting, and capturing lessons learned/best practices.
• Prepare and provide program budget for gender project activities.
• Ensure integration of gender in project design through the Development and use of gender-sensitive monitoring and evaluation, and results-based management tools (i.e. Logic Model, Performance Measurement Framework, Risk Register, etc.). Provision of Technical Assistance
• Provide technical assistance, including training and advice, for gender mainstreaming and gender equality programming to staff, consultants, and project partners, including government institutions, non-governmental organizations, academic institutions, civil society organizations, and private sector partners as needed.
• Contribute to the development of Agriteam communication materials, including web-based and print media.

Stakeholder relations
• Coordinate and collaborate with relevant stakeholders on gender related interventions, including participating in periodic review meetings and preparing/presenting reports on Agriteam’s gender portfolio, the status of current projects, and recommendations for future projects and programming.

Qualifications:
• Masters or Advanced Degree in a related subject area.
• At least eight (8) years of progressively responsible professional experience working on gender responsive programming in development and/or humanitarian/post-conflict settings.
• Familiar with development programming and working with inter-governmental organizations.
• Practical knowledge of results-based management (RBM) approach.
• Proven experience combining formal expertise on gender mainstreaming and gender equality with experience of applying these concretely to specific development sectors, plans, policies and business processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and adaptability/flexibility capabilities.
• Fluency in English and French preferred, additional languages considered an asset.
