sustainable growth and meaningful opportunities for people to improve their
lives. Over the past 30 years, Agriteam has managed and implemented more than
350 projects and assignments in dozens of countries worldwide.
Agriteam
is currently recruiting a Management and Leadership Specialist for an upcoming
project in Tanzania. The objective of the project is to provide Technical
Assistance to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) for (i)
more effective management of teacher education and professional development;
and (ii) improved quality and relevance of gender-sensitive instruction for
student teachers at Government teachers’ colleges. The Management and
Leadership Specialist’s inputs will be 990 days over the 5 year duration of the
project, based in Tanzania.
Responsibilities:
• Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with key stakeholders
• Identifying opportunities for synergies with other donor-funded initiatives in Tanzania
• Assessing and monitoring the political environment with regard to teacher education in Tanzania
• Tracking project results
• Collecting, analyzing and synthesizing results related to the management of teacher education
• Assisting in the preparation of plans and reports
• Managing the day-to-day activities of the projects, in the country, in the absence of the Project Director
• Determining capacity development needs and developing training modules and training frameworks
• Supporting the recruitment of technical experts

Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Education, Education Management and/or Public Administration
• On-going professional development related to: Public Administration, Education, and/or teacher Education
• At least 8 years of experience, within the last 10 years, performing similar duties to those outlined under “Responsibilities”
• Experience managing budgets equivalent to at least CAD 1 million
• Demonstrated experience working with multiple stakeholders, including government representatives, regional authorities, teachers, development partners, educational institutions, non-governmental organizations, and/or the private sector
• At least 8 years, within the last 10 years, managing projects that build the capacity of educational leadership
• Experience using Results Based Management procedures (RBM)
• At least 3 years of experience managing projects related to teacher education
• At least 5 years of experience working in a developing country, with preferably some experience working in Tanzania
