Musoma Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (MUWASA)

is a utility established under section 9 of the Water Supply and Sanitation Act No. 12 of 2009 with the objective of provision of Water Supply and Sanitation services in Musoma Municipality. In this respect, the activities of MUWASA have specifically expanded and the authority now invites application from suitably qualified and skilled individuals who are dynamic and result oriented to fill the following posts:-

Position: Technical Manager

Reporting to: Managing Director

Duties and Responsibilities

 

i. To be responsible for the performance of all water supply and sewerage systems according to agreed performance and public health standards.

ii. To recommend and ensure compliance of policies, standards and procedure and financial performance targets in consultation with the Finance Manager.

iii. To prepare/review annual budgets and manpower plans for the Technical Department.

iv. To plan urban water development projects.

v. To advise on manpower recruitment and training requirements of the Technical Department.

vi. To review performance against approved plans and budgets of the Department.

vii. To ensure that water production and sewerage standards and safety procedures are complied with.

viii. To ensure that there is proper and economic use of the Authority's plants, equipments and workshops.

ix. To maintain records on the conditions of raw water from all sources and monitor the level of undesirable dangerous and toxic substances in the water.

x. To provide laboratory service for chemical, bacteriological and biological analysis.

xi. To carry out any other technical activities as may be assigned by the Managing Director.

Minimum Qualifications

Holder of Masters Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering,Mechanical Engineering, or Sanitary Engineering from a recognized University.

He/She must be registered with Engineers Registration Board of Tanzania as Professional Engineer. Computer literate is an added advantage.

Minimum Experience

Possession of at least eight (8) years of working at water sector.

Age limit

Not above 45 years of age

Remuneration

Active package and fringe benefits as per MUWASA's incentives scheme will be

offered to the successful candidates.
