Pharmacist II Position Description:
Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences is inviting applications
from suitably qualified Tanzanians to be considered for employment to fill
vacant posts listed hereunder for MUHAS Academic
Medical Centre (MAMC) at University New Campus of Mloganzilla.
6. Pharmacist II - 1 POST
(a) Required' Qualifications
Holder of a Degree in Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) or its equivalent from a recognized institution. In addition, the candidate must have completed one year of internship and is registered by the Pharmacy Council of Tanzania.
Duties and Responsibilities
i. Prepares annual medicines and medical devices requirements and its budget.
ii. Orders, stores and dispenses medicines and medical devices.
iii. Keeps records of medicines and medical devices.
IV. Prepares list of medicines and medical devices for the institution use.
v. Inspects medicines and Medical devices.
VI. Supervises compounding and dispensing of extemporaneous preparations
vii. Educates public/patients on proper use of medicines
viii. Provides information on reaction resulting from the use of medicines.
IX. Assists physicians, interns, Nursing and patients on medications
x. Makes regular reconciliation of medicines dispensed against issues
xi. Makes regular reconciliation of medicines sold against revenue collected
xii. Prepares report on the use of drugs and medical devices in the Institution
xiii. Performs any other Duties and Responsibilities as assigned by his/her superior.
